Abstract

John Bellamy Foster is co-editor of Monthly Review, professor of sociology at the University of Oregon, and the author of numerous books and articles on political economy and the environment. His most recent books are Pox Americana: Exposing the American Empire (2004, coedited with Robert W. McChesney), Ecology Against Capitalism (2002); Marx's Ecology (2000); Hungry for Profit (2000, coedited with Fred Magdoff and Frederick Buttel); and The Vulnerable Planet (1993, 1999) - all published by Monthly Review Press. He is currently working with Robert McChesney on a book entitled Media and Empire, to be published by New Press.
